Acetal Copolymer

• Cont. Service Temperature 180 F
• Porosity Free
• Easy to machine to close tolerances
• FDA, USDA, NSF and 3-A Dairy
• Plate up to 6” Thick
• Rods up to 24” Dia.
• Tubular Bar and Bushing Stock
Acetal Copolymer is a general-purpose acetal that is porosity free. Acetal Copolymer is easily machined with excellent dimensional stability for close tolerance parts. A low coefficient of friction and excellent wear properties, especially in wet or moist environments, make it easy to see why Acetal Copolymer is one of the most widely used engineering thermoplastics available today. Available in a wide range of sizes and shapes. Films as thin as .010, plates as thick as 6.0 and it’s also available in solid round bar and tubing. Call for details.

Acetal Homopolymer (Delrin)

• Cont. Service Temperature 185 F
• Higher tensile and impact strength
• Great dimensional stability
• Excellent electrical properties
• Plate up to 4” Thick
• Rods up to 6” Dia.
• Tubular bar and Bushing Stock
Acetal Homopolymer is an acetal material manufactured from Delrin ® resin offered by Dupont. Delrin® is the original acetal material introduced by Dupont more than 30 years ago. This product offers slightly higher tensile and impact strength in comparison to Acetal Copolymer. Delrin® is used in wide variety of industrial / engineering parts and components due to its excellent dimensional stability and high fatigue endurance. “Centerline porosity” is an inherent property of this product which is why it’s not made in the larger sizes.

Delrin 100 AF

• Cont. Service Temperature 185 F
• 20% Teflon Fiber Filled
• Low Coefficient of friction
• Enhanced wear properties
• Excellent for low cost Bearings
• Great sliding properties
• Rods up to 6” Dia & Plate up to 4”
Delrin® 100 AF is a 20% Teflon fiber filled acetal that is unblended, meaning the resin is manufactured and packaged by Dupont and extruded “as is”. Delrin® 100 AF offers a slightly higher limiting PV and lower coefficient of friction than Delrin® AF Blend due to the additional Teflon content. However, the additional Teflon typically decreases the wear capability, tensile and impact strength. Delrin® 100 AF is more expensive than Delrin® AF Blend and is less widely available.

Delrin AF Blend

• Cont. Service Temperature 185 F
• 13% Teflon Fiber Filled
• Low Coefficient of friction
• Enhanced wear properties
• Excellent for low cost Bearings
• Improved impact strength
• Rods up to 6” Dia & Plate up to 4”
Delrin® AF Blend is a unique thermoplastic material for use in moving parts in which low friction and long wear life are important. It is a combination of PTFE fibers uniformly dispersed in Delrin® acetal resin. This combination offers better wear characteristics than unfilled Delrin®. Bearings made of Delrin® AF Blend can operate at higher speeds while exhibiting reduced wear. Delrin® AF Blend retains 90% of the strength that is inherent in unmodified Delrin acetal. Delrin® AF Blend
is more widely available than the Delrin® 100 AF and less expensive.

Delrin AF DE588

• Cont. Service Temperature 185 F
• 20% Teflon Fiber Filled
• Developed for US Naval use
• Fully tested and certified
• NAVSEA 5959311 Rev C
• NAVSEA 803-4384678 Rev B & C
• Rods up to 6” Dia & Plate up to 4”
Delrin® AF DE588 is 20% Teflon filled Delrin® AF and is fully tested and certified for US Navy use. It’s approved by the US Navy for Bushings, bearings, seals, gaskets and valve seats. Delrin® AF DE588 meets NAVSEA 5959311 Rev C and NAVSEA 803-4384678 Rev B & C. Delrin® AF DE588 is up to 4 times more costly than traditional Delrin ® AF. Delrin® AF DE588 is available on a limited basis and sometimes carries a fairly large minimum. Call for details.

Other Grades of Acetal

• 20% Glass Filled Delrin®
• Delrin® 507 UV Stabilized
• Delrin® CL500 Chem. Lubricated
• ESD Acetal Static Dissipative
• FDA Compliant Colors in Acetal
• Medical Grade Acetal USP Class 6
• Above grades in Rod and Plate only
These alternative grades of Acetal are available on a limited basis and sometimes carry productions minimums.
